Gifts of Securities & Other Assets
Gifts of Securities
If you’d like to support Saskatoon’s central library and benefit from tax savings, a gift of securities might be a good option for you. Donating publicly traded securities allows you to support the new library while eliminating the capital gains tax on appreciated stocks. The library uses CanadaHelps for securities donations. Learn more here.
Other Giving Options
You can also support the new library with a gift of life insurance, real estate or registered assets (RRSP, RRIF or TFSA). To find out more about these giving options and how they can benefit both the library and your personal situation, please get in touch with us.
Legacy Giving
Choosing to leave a gift to Saskatoon Public Library in your will is an opportunity for you to make a lasting contribution to your community. It also allows you to create a deeply meaningful legacy to be shared by the people of Saskatoon for generations to come.
Will gifts are by far the most common form of legacy gifts. By naming Saskatoon Public Library as a beneficiary in your will, you can provide for your loved ones and help the library prosper.
Your will gift (bequest) can be set up to leave a particular sum of money, a specific asset such as property, or a certain percentage of your estate. Please view/download this document for more information on suggested will language for making a gift to SPL.
