Earlier this year I gave away a hard copy of Blood Song the first book in the Lharmell series by Aussie blogger-turned-author Rhiannon Hart. It gives me IMMENSE pleasure to offer readers WORLDWIDE the opportunity to win a copy of the eBook edition of this amazing fantasy for Young Adults (and older!) To help Rhiannon celebrate her international release, I’m hosting a giveaway on my blog!
I wanted to turn but I was held captive by the song on the wind. I’m coming, I told the voices. Please, wait for me.
When her sister becomes betrothed to a prince in a northern nation, Zeraphina’s only consolations are that her loyal animal companions are by her side – and that her burning hunger to travel north is finally being sated.
Already her black hair and pale eyes mark her out as different, but now Zeraphina must be even more careful to keep her secret safe. Craving blood is not considered normal behaviour for anyone, let alone a princess. So when the king’s advisor, Rodden, seems to know more about her condition than she does, Zeraphina is determined to find out more.
Zeraphina must be willing to sacrifice everything if she’s to uncover the truth – but what if the truth is beyond her worst nightmares? (goodreads.com)
As well, Rhiannon was kind enough to write a fun little thing for me to post with this giveaway, so I’ll pass this post over to her before I post the entry details!
Five things No One Would Know about me Just By Looking at Me
–I’m pretty tall, ok? Pretty robust-looking girl. But I have the crappiest, thinnest veins. Low blood pressure, too. I try to give blood and it’s like, nothing. Nurses and anaesthetists struggle to find a vein. A vampire would have real trouble.
–I CAN’T STAND slugs. I grew up with poisonous spiders everywhere, but basically in the desert and I never got used to CREEPY SLIMY MEAT-FLECK SLUGS. *shudder* I mean, they don’t have heads or tails or any discernible body parts.
–I rewatch favourite TV shows. To death. It’s partly so I can go off and do other things and just listen with one ear. And partly comfort. Just something to nap on the couch to. Infuriates my housemates.
–I did seven years of ballet as a child. I was pretty bad. But I love to dance. There are dancing scenes in both Blood Song and Blood Storm.
–I’m interested in everything. If I open up Wikipedia I can disappear into threads for hours. Weird stuff like lists of kidnappings and serial killers, ghost ships, far-flung countries. All that glass-blowing stuff in Blood Storm came out of one long Wikipedia binge that started with … minerals? The Saharan Desert? I can’t remember. Fascinating stuff though.
